Website · Lean tools · SEO

A consultancy site with free lean tools that clients actually use, a CMS the team posts to themselves, and a brand that stays recognisably theirs.

Percom helps organisations in Flanders and the Netherlands run projects, processes and people better. Their old WordPress site hid the work. The new one puts three pillars up front, lets visitors try the same calculators the consultants use, and gives the team their own place to publish cases and articles.

The situation

Percom helps organisations get more out of what they already have: projects that finish, processes that flow, people who grow. The work is good and mostly invisible from outside, so the site has to show it.

The brand was worth keeping: plum purple, a yellow accent, Poppins and a yellow corner mark. The job was to show the three kinds of work clearly, to let the practical tools carry the first impression, and to move everything over without losing a page.

The website

Three pillars, each with its own corner. Project Performance, Process Performance and People Performance each get a page and a yellow corner in a different position, so the same brand mark helps the visitor see which pillar they are on. Each page lists the services under it in plain words.

A photo that shows the work. The first thing a visitor sees is a team at a wall of yellow notes, the kind of session a lean consultant runs. It replaced an earlier picture that looked more like a care organisation than a consultancy.

Cases and a blog. Featured cases sit on the homepage, with a link to all references. Each case is filed under a pillar, so a visitor interested in process work reads process cases.

Trainings moved to their own home. The training pages belong to a sister site in the group. The old training addresses on Percom send visitors there, so no link from an old mail or search result ends on an error.

The lean tools

Percom's consultants use a handful of calculators with clients. Now visitors can use them as well.

  • OEE Calculator. Availability, performance and quality, multiplied.
  • Value Stream Map. Takt time, lead time and the share of time that adds value.
  • Process Yield Calculator. First pass yield and rolled throughput yield.
  • DPO and DPMO Calculator. Defects per million opportunities and the sigma level.

No sign-up, no wall. You fill in your own figures, see at once where the gain is, and take the report with you. The calculations match the old tools, checked line by line with tests.

Let a consultant look along. If a result raises a question, one button sends the figures to Percom. It saves the enquiry and never sends anything to the visitor's inbox.

Getting found

  • Every old address still works. All 266 addresses from the WordPress site lead to the right new page, checked one by one, so nothing ranked is lost.
  • A page tells Google what it is. Every page says what it is, where it sits and who is behind it, and the blog and cases are described as such.
  • Sitemaps per type. Pages, pillars, cases, blog and tools each have their own, so a new case is picked up quickly.
  • A preview image. Shared links show the logo and the four yellow corners instead of an empty box.

A CMS the team uses

The content lives in an editor that the team logs into themselves. Blog posts, cases and pages are written and published there, with no developer in the loop. All the existing content was moved across word for word from the WordPress site.

What changed for them

The three pillars are clear within a few seconds. The calculators give visitors a reason to stay and a way to start a conversation without a cold form. The team publishes on its own. And the old addresses, and the search rankings behind them, carried over.

What we keep doing

Hosting, updates and backups, small changes the team asks for, and SEO follow-up on cases and blog posts. The lean tools are kept correct, and extended when the consultants want another one. The site itself stays up to date as the pillars develop.
