A new brand that was finished on paper, built into a site that does exactly what the design promised.

Barentszen brings people together with meetings, events and business travel. They had a new name, a new position and a design that worked. What they did not have was a website that showed any of it.

The situation

Barentszen organises meetings, events and business travel for organisations trying to get something done with a group of people. For years they did that under separate brand names, with a website per name. That has been cleared up: one name, one position, one story.

The story only existed on paper. A brand document with a vision, a logo, a colour palette and a typeface. Bonny (UX) and Geertje (UI) of UXstudio.online turned it into a full website design, built around what a visitor is trying to solve rather than around a list of services. We came in for the part after that: making the design real.

What we did

Built the design the way it was drawn. A design that thins out on its way into the build stops being a design and becomes a suggestion. Every screen was checked down to the spacing, the gradients, the corners of the buttons and the behaviour at every width. Anything the theme could not do on its own we built, so the answer never had to be "that is almost possible".

WordPress, because they need to get at it. Elementor Pro for the pages, ACF Pro for everything with a fixed shape: customer cases, service pages, frequently asked questions, team members. Add a customer case and you fill in fields and get a page that looks like all the others. Nobody has to assemble a blank page to publish something, and nobody can pull the layout apart by accident.

The move, together with their marketing agency. Several websites became one. Barentszen's online marketing agency knew which pages brought in visitors and rankings, we knew what was taking their place. We put those two lists side by side before anything went live, so old addresses land on the right new page and nothing goes missing on the way.

What changed for them

The site that is live is the site that was on the designer's screen. The brand document is no longer a document. The team publishes its own customer cases and service pages without us, and anyone arriving through an old address lands on the page that now covers it.

Thanks to your creativity, support and professionalism, we now have a beautiful, future-proof website. I wanted to let you know how incredibly happy I am with the result.Annemieke Stuurman, CEO of Barentszen

Three parties, one site

Design with one, marketing with another, the build with us. That only works if nobody starts improvising halfway. We stick to the design, say so when something has to change for technical reasons, and hand over to the team that works with it every day.
